Welcome to IVC Baltimore

IVC’s roots are right here in Charm City. Ignatian Volunteers have been serving the needs of people who are poor in Baltimore since 1995.

There is much work to be done.  Baltimore City has one of the highest poverty rates in the country.  Community nonprofit agencies do a remarkable job working to meet the extensive needs of people who are materially poor.  However there are simply not enough staff resources to meet the need.  Ignatian Volunteers bring their lifetime of experiences and knowledge to these nonprofits and help them fill in those gaps.

If you ask an Ignatian Volunteer why she or he chooses to serve, you‘ll often be told “I am so grateful for God's gifts in my life and I want to give back.”
