IVC Cincinnati Program Details
In Cincinnati, Ignatian Volunteers are working with refugee & immigrant services and women & children services. They tutor, provide healthcare & food assistance, and work in shelters.  Ignatian volunteers commit to work two days a week in service to the poor, September through June, for a year.

IVC is unique and compelling in that it offers persons over 50 years of age the opportunity to administer to those in need - the materially poor, the sick, those in prison, those who need someone with a listening ear. The volunteers have the opportunity to reflect on what is stirring in their own hearts as they work with care receivers.  This reflection component is key to the volunteer program.  Volunteers gather monthly for group reflection and prayer in addition to meeting individually with a spiritual reflector.

Cincinnati volunteer Bob Cloud explains. “It’s important to me to be of service to others and to work with a group of people who value their spiritual growth. I enjoy our sharing of experiences with one another. That’s the greatest source of spiritual growth — the way we learn from and are inspired by each other. I think the Holy Spirit communicates with us primarily through our contact with others.”

IVC Cincinnati welcomes women and men, age 50 or better, with time available to reach out to others and a desire to grow in their spirituality.
