For more than eleven years, IVC Philadelphia has recruited and supported committed, competent, and caring Ignatian Volunteers for community programs serving vulnerable populations throughout the region. Currently, 29 Ignatian Volunteers work two days a week in 27 partner agencies offering direct service to children, families, and adults who are materially poor.
In the City of Brotherly Love, Ignatian Volunteers take the human contact and relationship aspect of their work very seriously. "It has changed me," said one Philadelphia Volunteer. “You get a satisfaction when you're helping people. It makes me appreciate the things I have and it gives me more energy to give back where I can make a difference."
